When the #4 steel body mount reinforcement rusts away or there’s some other kind of damage, this pocket is used to repair the fiberglass. Ideally this pocket would be installed via the cockpit. It’s not an easy task but it’s doable if you have some skills.
In order to ensure a proper match and fit, it is HIGHLY recommended that the installer of the part is the one to order it.
