WebDay Wednesday

Where we post what we do through the week, to help you get through yours!

Want to see what we've been up to?

We have more than the floor!

We've got the split window roof panel to go with it!

Can you think of a car that is as iconic as the split window Corvette?

There are a few but none have as much Americana associated with it quite as much as the Corvette.

What Is Red Friday?

R.E.D. Friday – which stands for “remember everyone deployed” – is a movement designed to honor veterans and deployed U.S. troops by wearing a red shirt every Friday.

It's a tradition that dates back to the early 2000's. It's also a great way to show appreciation.

Image
Image

If it wasn't for soldiers and those putting their life on the line, we wouldn't have many of the freedoms we enjoy today!

So whether you like our political leadership or not, the soldiers give you the ability to praise or complain about them.

God Bless Our Troops!

Image

You've seen it before,
but blondes have more fun.

Image
Image

Here is our Early 63 Hood as it is meant to be seen. Showing off how crisp it is while that blonde shines bright!

It almost has an angelic glow to it. The form, the flow, and the color are all how GM intended. As much as we like custom, sometimes original just speaks volumes. That's how we feel with this floor.

We can see this floor going down the road now. In a shipping truck headed your way that is!

Image

Our Zen Garden...

Image

Being creative is our Zen.

So you could say playing around in the hand laid fiberglass is our Zen garden.

We get to roll our tools around and sculpt a classic.

1 piece at a time.

Watching it transform from fiberglass mat into whatever our heart desires is always a meditative experience.

To see it take shape is a truly satisfying experience.

Watching it is almost like a perfect bite of food, something indescribably enjoyable.

Image
Image
Image

We've got a floor on our floor!
And we're making another!

Image

Tooled from an original NOS floor, this is an early style floor with the deeper tool box pockets under the floor. The bottom of the floor is smooth with a class "A" finish.

This one isn't hand laid though, It's vacuum infused.

We use a vacuum infusion process to make this which gives you a lighter, stronger and more consistent product. The consistency comes from the evenly applied pressure through the vacuum as it pulls the resin through the fiberglass.

Image

Image

Over run by molds!
The Corvette kind though...

Have a guess as to how many products are in our catalog?
Over 300 with variations included.

Now want to guess how many molds we have?
Over Double that!
We're constantly making new products and testing new things. The ones that pass are what is available. The ones that don't pass get repaired if we can.

We only work with the best, no matter what we do.

Image
Image
Image

This many molds can be hard to keep track of!
All the dad has to do is simply look at them and he can tell you the exact year and whether its a coupe or convertible.

That's a lot of hunter orange for not one tree in sight! If you follow us closely you might have seen a deer a few months back though!

This new vacuum pump should help with our molds!

Image

Our old vacuum pump is still running strong, we just want to expand!

You read that right! We're expanding our fiberglass! With how many molds we have, we needed more ways to fill them!

Now to get it installed and plumbed!

Looks like the oil level is good!

Properly maintaining your equipment is vital!

How can you expect to make a perfect part without your tools operating perfectly?

It doesn't matter if the machine is used or brand new, always, always, always give it a proper safety inspection. If not for the sake of the machine, for you.

Image

Not even a week later and there is more in the catalog!

Image

Our press molded side fenders are as close to a OEM part as you can find! We say that confidently because our press molded parts are all tooled from original NOS parts.

If you're going to do it, do it right!

Image

As these are tooled from original NOS parts, they are perfect replacements for those that want to keep the stock look on their 63 - Early 64 Corvettes!

Ever wonder why we say early or late for certain years?

Its because that's the color General Motors used for the fiberglass.

That's how much care and detail we put into these parts.

We not only make sure theyre tooled from NOS parts, We make sure they're the same color. It keeps the factory theme while allowing for easier paint matching.

Dont patch the molds, Repair them!

Image

You don't patch your tires and go on a road trip, so why would you patch your molds if you want a good production run?

We make sure every mold is as perfect as can be, every time it needs to be! That's what helps us stand out, our commitment to excellence in everything that we do.

Image
Image

It doesn't matter if the flaw is big or small, we repair them all!

We always get our molds back to the way they were at day 1. If you want perfection in your work, put perfection in your molds!

We understand that not everyone likes shopping online, Some prefer a catalog. We're bringing ours back!

We're working tirelessly to update ours and get it current with the website. We're trying to make sure every product is in there and if you want to see more details on the product, the downloadable PDF will have links to all of our products on the website. If you wanted to print it out instead, it will have all of our SKU's to make searching the website even easier or if you prefer to call it in!

Though we're not entirely sure what car to use for the cover. They're just all so pretty it makes it hard to decide.

Image

Our goal was to keep it as clean as our parts while being slightly reminiscent of an old school J.C. Whitney catalog.

Though we don't remember J.C. Whitney having so many Corvette parts.

But then again, that's what we're here for.

We didn't forget to clean the other shop, but we did forget to post about it!

Image

Things have been a little busier around here and around town in general.

Yet we still found time to clean both shops and polish up some eye candy for our neighbors to the north that love classic cars as much as we do.

We had to show the Canadians some real American Muscle.

To top it off we had to spruce the goose!

Image

There's 2 bits of good news.

The 1st bit is that our locations look stunning. We really tried to go all out for this and we think it shows. We put as much work into our landscaping and maintenance as we do with our Corvettes, maybe even more.

(Though that's hard to beat.)

Image

The 2nd bit...
OUR HOME TOWN TEAM MADE IT TO THE SEMI-FINALS, AND OUR TOWN IS HOSTING IT!
The Saginaw Spirits hockey team has surely worked hard to get where they're at. It's paying off well!
Keep it up boys!
But good luck to everyone involved, we're just happy to be a part of it.

Cleaning up for Canada!

Image

Our city of Saginaw, Michigan is lucky enough to be hosting the 2024 memorial cup for the Ontario Hockey League. Also known as the OHL. We'll have visitors from all over the USA and Canada!

With that, we wanted to clean up our building and get everything up to snuff for our neighbors to the north.
We'll have thousands of visitors per day and we want to make sure we look our best!

Image

The bus route is going to travel right by our shop! EVERY 15 MINUTES!
So you know we had to make it sparkle.

We started by going around our entire building giving it a new coat of paint. Hopefully the Canadians bring sunglasses because it is BRIGHT! We also painted our facia and window sills that needed it as well as touched up the rest.

There was no detail we didn't pay attention to as you'll see.

Here you see our crew putting the finishing touches on the paint and not getting any on the mural of the pretty pink corvette!

Image
Image

We also framed our fence and gave it a nice look with some aluminum siding. We think it brings a nice finish to our building as well as giving us a little privacy.

We cant give our secrets away too easily.

If you look behind the buildings though you'll see the start of the second largest mural in the USA! Covering 70,000 square feet and 360 degrees of each silo.

The mural is the result of a contract with Madrid-based artist Okuda San Miguel, whose work includes bright colors, geometric abstract figures, and structures in many countries. There will be local artists as well to try and bring the community together.

Hopefully it looks good when its finished.

The final touch was a little bit of landscaping! The flowerbeds needed some tending, so we got a nice red mulch that matches our style. Once it was cleared out and the mulch put down it all came together!

After all, if you're going to do it, do it right!

Image
Image

Helping the Dad go out in style!
Not for a while yet though, hopefully.

Image

Steve has wanted a casket that looks like a 63 Split Window for 25 years.
Here's how we're making that happen using modern technology alongside old school muscle.

First we start with the menial task of applying the targets to the vehicle.

They help the scanner reference the location and the distance so the computer can build the model easier.

Image

We carefully scan the vehicle using a state of the art Telemetry style scanner.

Image

We scan the car multiple times in order to ensure we don't miss any areas. It also helps ensure the file gets aligned properly.

It's hard to scan a complete car in one go so multiple scans are a requirement.

Image

After aligning our scans, we're left with a file we can sculpt and manipulate in order to achieve the results we're after.

We just have to patch up a few holes and remove the markers making it a completely sealed and manifold 3d model.

Here was the hard part. Finding a go kart frame made by GM in order to use as a base.

But we did it, and we scanned that too!

Image
Image

Then you just take both of the scans and arrange the split window scan so it fits atop the go kart. Then you "subtract" the go kart scan from the split window scan and what you're left with should fit together.

Well after it's printed.

Image

The next step is to dowel and glue the pieces together, then body work it.
Make sure you keep checking in so you can see how it turns out!

Foot locker? You mean filament locker!

Image

3D Printing filament can absorb moisture, that moisture can affect print quality. It can even prevent a print from working at all. Sometimes the moisture is in your climate, sometimes it's the manufacturers climate.
But either way it needs to be combatted and kept dry.

Image

Filament dryers often don't reach required temperatures and they only hold one or two spools. A great alternative is a food dehydrator, they can reach higher temperatures and often have stronger fans.
We customized this locker for optimal air flow and put the uncovered dehydrator on the bottom to let all of our filament dry out.

Image

When you have a problem the world doesn't have a good enough answer for,
You gotta do it yourself!
But do it the Dynamic way!

Image

Stinger, or Stinger-less?

Image

We couldn't decide on which look we liked more.

So we made both.

Image
Image
Image
Image

Which one do you think looks better? We can't decide which one we like more. That's why we made it bolt on, for the choice!

So get yours today and ride around in style.
Whichever style you choose!

Every Single Detail...

There is no detail too big and no detail too small. It doesn't matter if you look at it everytime or if you're never going to see it. We're going to make sure it's a magnificent piece.

And we're surely going to make it Dynamic!

Image
Image
Image

That Includes The Carbon Fiber!

Image

Like we said, The size of the details don't matter. We're going to do everything in our power to make it immaculate.
We made sure you've come to expect that out of us and our crew makes sure we deliver!

Image
Image
Image

It's more fun
making blondes!

Image

Here we have Weston infusing some of our blonde side fenders for the 63-64. We always have to make sure there is good vacuum so our part are as uniform and perfect as you've come to expect our parts to be.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right!

Image

After all if it's not perfect, its not Dynamic!

Image
Image

Always, always, always inspect.
Before & After

Image

You seen us inspect the molds after use, but did you know we inspect them before as well? It is imperative to the perfect part that we inspect the molds at every stage.

You  never know when something may fall in or something gets chipped. Reality is there's always gonna be problems, we just have to notice them and fix them before it's too late.

Image

Expect the unexpected when you're creating anything.

That's how you become Dynamic!

Image

Enclosing our 3D printer.
The Dynamic Corvettes way!

Image
Image

In order to retain heat and help the parts print cleaner, we built an enclosure to ensure perfection out of our parts.

After all it's what we expect of ourselves!

Image

New Product!!!
To sting or not to sting?

That is the question...

Image
Image

Now offering a Stinger-less hood!
We do offer a bolt on stinger option for those that still want the stinger but we wanted to be unique!
Keep your eyes out for a video where Steve will be discussing the clearance of the hood and the bolt on stinger option!

Crafting Carbon Fiber!
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Making carbon fiber line up properly isn't exactly easy. No matter how easy our guys make it look. They're always working hard to bring their expertise to the table and get you the best parts possible.

And the cleanest!!!

A different kind of mold removal!
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

We're inspecting our molds prior to using them to ensure the parts come out as clean as they possibly can and require little to no finishing. All imperfections must be fixed and repaired.

As the dad says "If you're going to do it, do it right!"

Image
Image
Sand? But it's not even summer yet...
Image

We've been trying some new sanding blocks from Linear Blocking Tools!
They work amazingly and they help us get into those frustrating spots.
We can honestly say they're a treat to work with and they definitely make our job easier.

Ohhh the Easter bunny got us something!
Image

We got surprised with a gift!
What we do with them might surprise you!
Of course, we have to clean them up first to get it just right.

As always we hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Image

On to a new week!
With the hood properly fit, we move to the trunk!

Image
Image

Following similar methods to what was seen with the hood, the guys get to fitting the trunk to the car. Of course the dad had to show them a few tricks of the trade as well as a few secrets he's learned over the years.

Image
Image
Image
Image
Ever wondered how to make a fiberglass hood fit properly?
Image

The dad wanted to show everyone how to properly fit and bodywork a hood so that it looks as good on the vehicle as physically possible. As always we think he did a pretty darn good job!

We had a birthday!!!! The dad cooked up quite the feast for the Dynamic Corvette family!
Image
Image
Image

The only thing the dad loves more than Corvettes is his family, so he showed out for Melanie by grilling some ribs and chicken for everyone! The man can grill just as good as he can repair a Corvette, so you know it was tasty!

Image

Upgrading our grill, the Dynamic Corvettes way!

Image
Image
Image

After the dad cooked Melanies birthday dinner, he noticed something wrong with the grill. Instead of getting another one, it just gives us a chance to customize this one and make it more ours!
