This procedure is for installing our custom fiberglass firewall close out panel
for C2 (1963 – 1967 Corvette)
STEP ONE: Fit 1/4 inch tubing (copper or steel) at the top to run the hood release cable through and behind the close out panel. Cut – Cut out lower section of wiper motor pocket to allow installation of Detroit Speed Selecta-Speed wiper motor from inside the vehicle.
(You must use a Detroit Speed wiper motor with this panel. The original wiper motor will not work with this application.)
STEP TWO: Apply Duraglas at the left and right paint sticks. Mix Duraglas before placing in a bag and cutting the corner tip of the bag to apply.
STEP THREE: Hang 2 paint sticks covered in masking tape from the edge.
STEP FOUR: After Duraglas has been applied, push paint stick against Duraglas and run a finger along the sides of the paint stick to finish.
STEP FIVE: After Duraglas has cured, remove the paint sticks. This bonds in the tubing and makes bonding strips to seal off the panel
STEP SIX: Sand bonding locations so they are flat and flush with the existing firewall.
STEP SEVEN: Mix another batch of Duraglas. Put Duraglas mix in bag, cut bag corner and apply on firewall. Apply along the top, around the wiper motor compartment to prevent leaks reaching interior.
STEP EIGHT: Install firewall close out panel and clamp in place. Allow Duraglass to cure.
